Artist Biography
Yvonne Jacquette depicts our urban world from a vantage point high above. From her perch, she brings order and context to a frenzied world below. Neon signs, strings of cars on dark highways, and brightly-lit windows are translated into dashes of color, pattern, and line. Using dense, saturated colors she creates rich lithographs seemingly glowing with moonlight and dawn. Her colorful, painterly marks describing windows and reflections are themselves miniature abstract paintings.
