Artist Biography

Barbara Shark makes paintings of people working, playing, caught unaware. With affection, attachment, and curiosity, she depicts likeness and the private faces of her subjects.

Shark has made two woodcuts, Pu’uhonua and Jackie, at Shark’s Ink. Using the layering attributes of printmaking, these woodcuts deconstruct Shark’s painting techniques to create graphic depictions of her subjects.
